I’m already an experienced windsurfer/snowboarder or/and wakeboarder, is it easier for me to learn how to kiteboard?
You most definitely have a big advantage if you already practise one of these sports, considering you now exactly how it feels to be standing on a board and keep your balance. Especially if you’re a wakeboarder or/and windsurfer, then you got some of the steering sensation. But still with kiteboarding it’s a complete different concept to control a kite while riding on your board. It’s more that you control all your movements by steering your kite, also your board. Therefore we strongly advice you even with these backgrounds to take lessons for your own safety and that of others.

How long will it take before I can really kiteboard?

That’s a frequently asked question. This varies per person of course. In general we advice for a complete beginner, that it will take at least 20 hours to get a bit the hang it. Also this of course varies, one needs some more lessons and the other one some less. It depends on many different factors, such as; motivation, right wind condition and it’s necessary to keep practising on a regular base. We maintain at all times the IKO learning methode. We take you through the process step by step and put safety first. That way on the long term you will enjoy kiteboarding a lot better!

How big is the size of the kite I’ll be starting with?

This mostly depends on your level, weight, height and the wind conditions. Depending on that one of the experienced instructors carefully picks your size. In general kites vary between 1meter and 22 meter.

Do I get some kind of certificate after my courses?

Al our instructors are IKO licensed, therefore all our students receive an official IKO kiteboarding card afterwards. On that card shall be noted your accomplished level. Make sure you take that card always with when you intend to take kiteboarding lessons or want to play. The card is valid all over the world where the schools are IKO certified or affiliated.
